The campsite is commonly referred to as ‘ Camping on Suite ‘ by the many regulars that visit Chewore.
Each site is on the bank, facing the river. At the rear is a floodplain that often presents water buck, elephants, eland, baboons, warthog, etc. feeding on the evergreen grass. All campsites have their own flush loo, a lighted hot/cold shower with amazing water pressure (a real pleasure) a minus 40 deep freezer, a 4-seater table with benches, a braai area, and lights over the food prep area. Power is provided.
In short all the basic essentials are comfortably catered for. The entire campsite is limited to 40 people, being 4 people per campsite. This is deliberate, to retain the tranquillity and isolation of the bush.
Camping under this amazing Albida forest is an enriching experience, at one with nature. So whilst you are accommodated in a level of comfort not normally associated with camp sites in Zimbabwe you will experience the wilderness like few other places will allow, there are no fences and no boundaries that keep the animals out.
Filtered water is provided free of charge. Ice, firewood, fuel and boat oils are available for purchase in limited quantities.
